VINTAGE ENGLISH PERIDOT 9CT YELLOW GOLD SCROLL-DETAILED RING 

This rather lovely vintage ring features an oval faceted peridot flanked by a pair of pear faceted peridot facing pointed side outwards, all claw set in 9ct yellow gold. The magnificent peridots are a gorgeous lime green and are surrounded, each gemstone, by an individual openwork design frame with organic scrolled detail. The central border is a soft diamond shape, overlapped by the pear shaped frames on the left and right so that the focal point is clearly the oval peridot, held 6mm above the finger. Measuring 17mm wide x 17mm long, the ring head sits on a slender 9ct yellow gold shank. The piece weighs 2.1 grams and the strong lattice work of the ring head creates a nice solid feel to the ring. It bears the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold, the jeweller signature and the hallmark for Birmingham imported gold. With the glorious colour and whimsical design, it is very much a piece that speaks of vintage England.
