Unusual Vintage Silver Plated Tureen and Lid

This nice quality entrée dish and lid is very unusual as this one has 2 compartments and has 2 decorative handles to make carrying to the table easier. The handle is removable from the lid, so it can be used as another serving dish. The base has very decorative edging and stands on four decorative feet. The lid has the same decorative border on the top and beautiful engraving around the sides. It is stamped underneath ‘SILVER PLATE ON COPPER’ ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’. It is in excellent condition for its age, with some wear (often referred to as bleeding) on the lid, due to polishing over the years. It measures 38cm in length (from handle to handle), is 21cm in width and is 14cm high.
