VINTAGE CITRINE SOLITAIRE 9CT YELLOW GOLD RING
CHARMING FLORAL DESIGN. BIRMINGHAM ASSAY. 

Delicate and ornamented, yet surprisingly heavy at just under 4 grams, this beautiful Birmingham assay vintage ring features a large oval faceted citrine solitaire claw set in 9ct yellow gold. A slender 9ct yellow gold shank splits into 3 on both shoulders and twists, curving to the left in an openwork design that supports the ring head with one prong, provides a base for a pretty flower design on the second, and a long curved leaf cupping the gemstone on the third. The floral decoration is a classic design favoured by English jewellers. The ring head - 14mm in width x 17mm long, has elongated claws that hold the head a splendid 8mm above the finger. The pedigree of the piece is evident in the hallmarks; the jeweller's signature, the Birmingham Assay mark, and the 375 hallmark for 9ct yellow gold. The ring has been authenticated by an independent jeweller and is in good condition, but has some buff marks. Beautifully made with an unusual design, the golden yellow of the citrine next to the warm yellow gold makes for a striking piece of jewellery!
