FAQs
What is eSATA?
External SATA (eSATA) is the latest technology in external hard drives and provides data transfer rates significantly faster than USB or FireWire 400. Unlike USB and FireWire interfaces, eSATA does not have to translate data between the interface and the computer. This enhances data transfer speeds, while saving computer processor resources.
Under what conditions will the drive require extra power from a 2nd USB port?
Normally no external power required - some older laptops and desktops might require two USB ports. The included Y-Cable can be used to take power from a second USB.
