USS Enterprise was called "Lucky little Enterprise" due to her fabulously successful career in the campaign against the Barbary pirates and in the War of 1812.

Within only one year, she captured eight privateers and liberated 11 American vessels from captivity

The USS Enterprise was initially armed with twelve 6-pounder guns2. Over time, it was overhauled and rebuilt several times, eventually becoming a fourteen-gun topsail schooner

The USS Enterprise was a schooner built by the famous shipbuilder Henry Spencer at Baltimore, Maryland in 1799
