In Japan 1960-70’s interests grew in manufacturing replica machine guns. Of all the companies the Marushin and Model Gun Corporation (MGC) were the better known manufacturers. Because of strict laws, these were manufactured to fire paper caps that fitted into Brass “Dummy casings”.
Later plastic caps were designed to replace the paper caps and were more effective. The brass cartages have a valve that creates the force for blowback.
These Toy Guns are very realistic in detail and in cartridge size “Dummy Casings”, they are correct in shape and close on size.
These toys/replicas can never be made to fire live ammunition as they have solid barrel sections, are slightly off scale (to prevent parts from being interchanged with the real thing) and the fact that the materials used to manufacture these Toys/Replicas would not withstand the force of a real cartridge going off, and would injure anyone attempting it.
As with all Replica/toy or imitation guns, these must be kept away from the public to avoid confusion and a response from the police.
These would be perfect for the military enthusiast who would like to take part in Re-enactments, or for collectors to complete their mannequin display of period correct uniform and kit. These are often used for movie props.
