Valve Radio - General Electric - C400 (Good working condition)

General Electric, model C400 Valve Radio - Medium Wave (AM) only.  Dimensions = 18 x 12 x 11 cm.  Please look through all pictures to see its cosmetic condition.  Has recently been electrically restored - thus in an excellent working condition.

The dropper auto-transformer used to drop the voltage to 110V - as this radio is a 110V model.  The radio would have originally have had a dropper cord - which was an extremely dangerous resistive cord used to drop the voltage from 220V.  The cord would have become very warm when is use and was quite dangerous.   Note that the transformer is almost the same size as the radio and is very heavy.

Postage will be R70 due to the heavy weight of the radio and it's transformer.  Please do not plug the radio directly into a 220V socket as this will destroy the valves - this receiver can only be used when plugged into the transformer.  Special care will need to be exercised to ensure that you do not touch the internal metal parts of the radio as they will be "live" and will result in a severe shock.
