In Hell
Kyle Le Blanc is an American working in Russia. When he hears his wife being attacked over the phone, Kyle rushes home to find that he's too late. The man who killed his wife is found not-guilty on lack of evidence. So Kyle takes the law into his own hands, and kills the man to avenge his wife's death. He is sentenced to life in prison without parole. The Russian prison he is sent to is tough, and the corrupt warden amuses himself by putting on fights where he fills his pockets with money from betting. When Kyle starts to crack and go mad, the warden forces him into participating in these fights. But Kyle begins to realise he must fight a bigger battle: the fight for inner peace. It's the only way he can re-discover the man he once was.

With the help of a beautiful Israeli cop (Sofia Milos), Van Damme uncovers a plot within the religious order that leads to secret catacombs beneath the holy city. Silly? Perhaps, but directed with vitality and surprising wit. Van Damme is trim and energetic, Milos is engaging, and a cameo by Charlton Heston only adds to the general atmosphere of fun. --Bret Fetzer
Wake of Death
Ben Archer (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is a thug/enforcer for a criminal organisation, and he's on the verge of retirement. Meanwhile his wife Cynthia, a social worker, brings a Chinese refugee girl to their home. But soon Sun Quan (Simon Yam) wants his daughter back, Cynthia Archer is murdered, and Ben's son Nicholas disappears, along with the Chinese girl. Ben must save the children and avenge his wife's murder.
