The story of VANQUISH is set in the near future. Although Vanquish has many of the hallmarks of recent Western third-person shooters, including a slick cover system that allows players to slide between cover, its Japanese mentality adds a more dramatic and surreal feel to combat. Players have access to a huge range of sci-fi weaponry, as well as a space-age technology that offers super-human strength and allows them to race through each environment with the use of heel-mounted jets.
