This is a Venom Racing Smart Temp Combination On-Board Temperature Gauge and Failsafe Unit. Every nitro car should use a temp gauge and a failsafe, and now Venom Racing has put them together into a single unit.
The unit connects between a servo and the receiver. If signal is lost, it will move the servo to a preset position. These are normally used in gas cars, where a loss in signal can mean a runaway car - which runs loose at high speed until it hits something, usually causing major damage to the car and/or other property. The failsafe keeps that from happening. When signal is lost, it moves the servo to a pre-set position - usually on a gas car setting the throttle to idle and lightly applying the brakes to bring it to a gentle stop. It is adjustable, so you can set the servo position. This one has a universal connector that lets it work with Futaba, Airtronics (Z), JR, Hitec, and many other popular radio systems.
It also features an on-board temperature gauge which lets you know the current temp of your engine as well as the peak temp your engine reaches while running - helping you avoid costly engine rebuilds caused by overheating, and letting you tune your engine for maximum performance.
