 STRIKING STERLING SILVER EARRINGS WITH BLACK OPALS, RUBIES AND MULTICOLOURED SAPPHIRES. VERY LONG! 925

This pair of earrings is really striking and most unusual! The earrings feature a combination of natural gemstones - black opals, rubies and sapphires that demonstrate a whole range of colours - all natural. The earrings are an astonishing and gorgeous 70mm long. Elegant in that they are a dainty 7mm wide. There are three distinct elements. The top stud element has 7 x round cut rubies and sapphires claw set in sterling silver in a single row, like a solid slender baton. The second element is a repeat of the first, again with 7 round cut rubies and sapphires, but the last 3 each increase in size over the one behind it. The third element continues the increase in size; this time the gemstones are oval faceted. 2 x pinkish rubies, claw set horizontally start the row, followed by 3 horizontally set oval cut black opals that have a fiery iridescent hue, a multitude of colours in each gemstone! The earrings weigh 7.45 grams together and bear the 925 hallmark indicating sterling silver. A most unusual, quite avant garde pair of earrings; a real conversation-piece.
