Very Rare - Bracht Mortise Chisels (Set of 3)

These large Bracht (German made) vintage mortise chisels are incredibly sturdy, with an impressive body width, and are ideally suited to the rigorous work of chopping out mortises. They are very rare and are in good condition with a good sturdy feel, are well weighted and sit comfortably in the hand. All have the initials DS stamped into the back of the handles. The 2 bigger chisels are labelled Chrom Vanadium Garantie, while the smaller one is labelled Wolfram Vanadium Garantie. I understand that wolfram is the German word for tungsten.

Sizes are as follows (first in inches, then mm):

1.         7/16" or 11mm (body width tapers from 17mm to 13mm)
2.             5/16" or 8mm (body width tapers from 15mm to 12mm)
3.           1/8" or 3mm (body width tapers from 14mm to 12mm)

While there is not a lot of info available on Bracht chisels, the general consensus is that they are good tools made from quality steel. There are some views given that Kirschen 2 Cherries (a German company that makes excellent chisels) bought out Bracht some decades back, but confirmation of this could not be found.
