BOLD RECTANGULAR DIAGONAL SPLIT RING WITH 22 x RUBIES AND 22 x DIAMONDS SET IN 9CT YELLOW GOLD. 375. HEAVY! Comes with Jeweller Certificate R18'000

This unusual bold, solid geometric ring has an interesting design - the large squared-off ring head has 2 parallel 'bands' at an angle, separated by a yellow gold separator - a raised thread of yellow gold. The one band is set with 22 x 1,5mm round cut raspberry pink rubies totalling 0,44 carats, and other with 22 x sparkling eight-cut diamonds. The diamonds are claw set in yellow gold, the rubies are claw set in 9ct gold that has been finished with a dark hue to emphasise the contrast of colour on the ring head. The 9ct yellow gold shank is narrow under the finger for comfort, broadening swiftly to the 9mm breadth of the ring head, and featuring a groove down the shoulder of the head following the line of the separator. The pedigree of the ring is evident in the many hallmarks - the jeweller's signature, the Birmingham Assay mark, the date 2009 and the 375 hallmark indicating genuine 9ct gold. Beautifully crafted, the ring is in excellent condition, and weighs a hefty 4.65 grams. I have had the piece evaluated by an independent jeweller at R18'000, and a certificate to that effect will accompany the ring. A bold, contemporary piece of English jewellery, and quite dramatic on the hand!
