A WWII brass Clinometer Sight MK. IV dated 1945 and with British Army crow's foot. Maker marked to R. Ltd N. Z. , DPL within a triangle and serial number 3253. The sight was used to determine the elevation of the gun when firing, particularly indirect of overhead fire. Usually fitted to the .303 Vickers machine gun, also to 13, 18 and 25 Pounder field guns. The top of the sight includes a spirit level and the mechanism with knurled knob used to adjust the elevation is still very smooth. Two spring-loaded brass claws facilitate attachment to the chosen weapon system. Size is 14cm x 8cm.
