Victorian 18ct Gold Mourning Brooch

 

The antique Victorian 18ct yellow gold mourning brooch is decorated with very fine, elaborate applied decoration. The brooch has a round ring bale, enabling it to be worn as a pendant, as well as fine safety chain and pin. The brooch has a detachable, gold framed, glass covered window at the back and has a steel pin. The brooch is unmarked but tests to be approximately 18ct gold. It is probably English and from the mid-Victorian period.
