Britannia Metal Victorian Teapot

DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION
DESCRIPTIONA beautifully crafted VICTORIAN BRITANNIA METAL 6 CUP TEAPOT, manufactured by the Sheffield Silversmiths Philip Ashberry in about 1880. It is extensively decorated through hand chasing and engraving with a cartouche for adding initials or a family crest and has a hinged lid as well as a crown - shaped lid finial. It stands 18.5 cm high and measures 24 cm at the broadest point (handle to spout tip). You can see the teapot in the image above. Also have a look at the images which follow which describe this lovely teapot better than I can and if unsure of anything please ask a question.
CONDITIONThe teapot is in very good condition with no leaks or dents. There are no initials engraved on it.
NOTES

This is a beautiful example of the metalsmiths art and craft in Brittain in the 19th century. A lovely collectable item, beautifully designed with extensive chased and engraved decoration and a lovely crown - shaped finial. Made by a silversmith known for producing quality items, this can take it's place as a prime item in a collection of antique teapots or even be used for serving tea on special occasions. A really unusual Britannia metal item.
