A CRYSTOLEUM IS THE DIFFICULT ANCIENT ART OF COLOURING A PHOTOGRAPH OR PRINT UNDER CONVEX GLASS GIVING THE PICTURE AN UNUSUAL EFFECT. THIS AUTHENTIC EXAMPLE IS IN FINE ORIGINAL CONDITION AND APPEARS TO BE AN OLD PRINT WHICH HAS BEEN COLOURED AND TECHNIQUED UNDER CONVEX GLASS.
