Victorian Silver Chatelaine Pin Cushion (1901) 

This charming, antique, sterling silver, heart shaped repousse pin cushion with a suspension loop for a chatelaine was made in Birmingham, England in 1901 by silversmiths 'Henry Matthews' (HM). It has its original blue velvet cushion sandwiched between two attractive silver panels with floral and scroll decoration, with a clear cartouche on both sides. This lovely piece is in excellent condition with clear hallmarks and would have originally been one of the numerous accessories a lady would attach to her chatelaine. It measures 4,3cm x 5cm (7cm with loop), and weighs 18g.
