This splitter cable is for splitting 1 HDMI signal to 2 HDMI signals. Cable splitters does not support HDCP source devices and will downscale to SD resolution or allow one display at a time if HDCP source is connected.
Connector : HDMI Male to (2) HDMI Female
Length : 30 cm
(*) You can only connect one input device - Non-HDCP (i.e. Apple TV Cable box, Satellite receiver) to two output devices(One signal to LCD / Plasma and one signal to another display e.g HDMI Projector/LCD or any HDMI display).
You cannot connect two input devices (i.e. HD PVR and DVD player) to one output device(i.e. TV or projector). For this you will need an HDMI switch.
We recommend the setup below for incompatible devices with cable splitters and to strengthen the HDMI signal after it has been split (We have tested cables lengths on our HDMI 24 AWG rated cables up to 10 meters at various resolutions up to 1080i and 100% quality. 24 AWG HDMI and lower rated cables will reach longer lengths when using an HDMI Active Equalizer / Extender. Please note that even with this proposed diagram below some systems will use this splitter as a selector for HDCP content and will select to view the HDMI content on the first HDTV that is powered on and establishes a handshake. If one display is powered off the other display will show the content and vice versa, but this is dependant on the displays in use and results may differ. This will not be the case with non-HDCP content and both displays will view the required video / audio.
This diagram and connections above are also 100% tested for HDMI to DVI Cables. Since DVI only transmits video and no audio, both ends of the HDMI Cable splitter will only display video when a HDMI to DVI converter or cable is used.
For devices incompatible with passive splitters (cable splitters) and HDCP devices, we recommend our active powered switch / splitter (All-in-one solutions)
