Brown Rice beans look like big, brown, grains of rice and retain much of their color when cooked. They should be cooked like rice (simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes), and are delicious when cooked with rice.Sow seeds in full sun. Provide a support as plants grow. Plant about 18- to 24-inches apart. Keep soil evenly moist. Young pods and leaves can be eaten fresh or allowed to mature and dry on the vine before picking. Remember to dry and set a handful of beans aside to plant next year.
