This lens is a wide-angle prime built for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras.
Its 23 mm focal length gives roughly a 35 mm full-frame equivalent field of view ideal for general-purpose use like street, travel, environmental portraits, landscapes, and everyday shooting. 
With a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, it excels in low-light and night scenes, and allows shallow depth of field for subject isolation or bokeh effects.
The optical design 11 elements in 10 groups, including ED and high-refractive-index elements helps deliver sharp, clear images with good color and minimal aberrations.
It uses a quiet STM (stepping motor) autofocus with full-time manual focus override and internal focusing, making it responsive and compact while focusing.
The lens is compact and lightweight (about 260 g, 65×72 mm), and has a 52 mm filter thread, making it easy to carry a good everyday walk-around lens.
