A genuine piece of early South African motoring history. This original 1927 Learner-Drivers Licence, issued by the Pretoria Municipality under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance of 1915, is a scarce and highly collectable document from the early days of road regulation in the old Province of Transvaal.
Printed in English and Dutch/Afrikaans, this licence reflects the bilingual administrative system of the era. It includes stamps, signatures, handwritten details, issuing office marks, and the official municipal round stamp dated 6 Dec 1927, adding authenticity and historical value.
Such early motoring documents were not typically preserved, making surviving examples rareespecially with full legible text, date, fee notation, and the original municipal stamp intact.
