VINTAGE 1930s NEW CHELSEA STAFFS PORCELAINBISCUIT PLATE

Vintage 1930s NewChelsea Staffs (RH & SL Plant) fine porcelain biscuit plate birdspattern. The New Chelsea business was established by brothers RH & SL Plantin 1900 and traded as Plant Bros until 1912 when the New Chelsea name wasadopted. In 1951 the business and trade names were sold to Suzie Cooper PotteryLtd and the business began operating under the name New Chelsea China Co Ltd.The trade name Royal Chelsea was used from 1943. This item is a fine porcelain biscuitplate decorated with a swag pattern along the mildly scalloped rim andcolourful birds along with natural green leaves and a pink peony, all handpainted.

STAMPS/MARKS: The item is stamped underneath: New ChelseaStaffs, Made in England.

CONDITION: In very good condition with no chips, cracksor damages, but just slight fading of the pattern and gold trim.

SIZE: Height of rim: 2.2 cm Diameter of base: 13.5 cm RimAcross: 23.4 cm x 23.4 cm
