Vintage 1940s Birtcher Hyfrecator (Electrosurgery Machine) Turns On! 

A VINTAGE 1940S PLASTIC SURGERY MACHINE. CALLED A HYFRECATOR IT WAS MADE BY BIRTCHER IN LOS ANGELOS USA. MISSING THE NEEDLES THAT PLUG IN BUT IT STILL POWERS UP AND LIGHTS UP GREEN. A COOL VINTAGE MEDICAL DEVICE THAT STILL DISPLAY AWESOMELY.
 
The Birtcher hyfrecator was used for minor electrosurgery to destroy tissue (removing surface growths) and stop or controlling bleeding. It has a black, bakelite encasement and a dial from 0 to 100 on the face that controls the intensity. There are four terminal outlets on the face, with red being for higher intensity work and white for light work. It has a long foot medal cord which when pressed turns the Hyfrecator on with a green lights lighting up. Missing is the double ended cord, the metal pin at one end plugs into the hyfrecator and the other end has a black bakelite tube into which various electrodes are attached. The device can be hung on the wall for convenience, and a slot in the back is provided to hang it.
