Vintage 1940s Eterna Automatic "Bumper" Military-Style Watch

Description: A highly desirable early automatic watch from the prestigious Swiss maker Eterna. It features a classic military-style black dial with heavily patinated, radium-style Arabic numerals, matching syringe hands, an outer minute track, and an engine-turned sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock. The dial is signed simply "ETERNA / AUTOMATIC" and "SWISS" at the bottom. It is housed in a robust stainless steel case with a heavily engraved screw-down back featuring a segmented design stamped with: "ETERNA AUTOMATIC", "WATERPROOF / IMPERMEABLE", "ANTI MAGNETIC", "SWISS", "STAINLESS STEEL", and "SHOCK ABSORBER / AMORTISSEUR DE CHOCS", along with a central serial number "3000674" and reference "2425S".

Condition: Pre-owned/vintage project piece. The early mechanical "bumper" automatic movement is currently not running and is being sold strictly as-is for parts, repair, or full restoration. The black dial exhibits heavy, uniform "stardust" tropical aging/spotting. The steel case shows honest wear, micro-scratches, and dirt build-up, particularly around the lugs and case back grooves. The domed acrylic crystal lens shows a heavy network of fine surface scratches.
