Vintage 1940s Luchs (Linx) German Cone Shaped Tin Messbecher (Measuring Cup) NO SCALE NEEDED!
A WONDERFUL LUCHS MESSBECHER DAS IDEALE KUCHENMASS (KITCHEN MEASURE) FROM THE 1940S. GERMANS DID THEIR COOKING BY MEASURING IN WEIGHT AND THIS TIN CUP MADE MEASURING BY STAPLE TYPE EASY WITHOUT THE NEED TO MEASURE BY SCALE.
THIS VINTAGE METAL TIN CONE-SHAPED MEASURING CUP IS MARKED WITH MEASUREMENTS ON THE INTERIOR IN GERMAN/DEUTCHE, IN LITERS (AND LESSER INCREMENTS) FOR A VARIETY OF MOSTLY DRY GOODS SUCH AS SUGAR (ZUCKER), BUTTER, RAISINS (ROSINEN), RICE/BARLEY, COCOA, SALT, PEAS/BEANS/LENTILS, FLOUR (MEHL), PEPPER.
These metal measuring cups were manufactured from the early 1930s up until after World War II. Some say is was made by the Luchs Beer Company but this is not clear although they have the same linx (luchs) logo. Later models were marked 'Made in Western Germany'.
In good vintage condition, considering age and use! Has retained most of its black vertical stripes, logo and black/red markings on the interior.
EVIDENTLY TRADITIONAL GERMAN COOKING MEASURE IS DONE BY WEIGHT AND THEREFORE THIS CUP EXPEDITED SIMPLE MEASURING IN WEIGHT BY GRAM, A SHORTCUT FOR DAILY BAKING NEEDS WHICH OTHERWISE WOULD REQUIRE TAKING OUT A SCALE.

CONDITION: GOOD CONTION. MINOR STAIN OB BASE BUT ARTWORK NEAR PERFECT.
