VINTAGE 1950S-1960S GERMAN MADE TOWER WHITE METAL KITCHEN SCALE WITH CHROMED TOP DISH
A VINTAGE TOWER BRAND KITCHEN SCALE WITH A 10lb CAPACITY, MANUFACTURED IN THE WHITE VARIETY.
TOWER HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER A 100 YEARS AND ARE STILL PRODUCING DIGITAL SCALES.
THIS PARTICULAR TOWER RANGE WAS RELEASED BETWEEN THE 1950's AND 1960's IN WHITE, RED, BLUE, PASTEL GREEN, PASTEL BLUE AND ORANGE VARIETIES. THE TOWER BRAND WAS ALSO USED IN ITALY AT THE SAME TIME AND THE SCALES PRODUCED WERE IDENTICAL.
THIS SCALE HAS A 10LB (AROUND 4.5KG) CAPACITY, AND GIVES THE WEIGHTS OF ONE CUP OF SOME FOOD INGREDIENTS LIKE SUGAR AND FLOUR ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE.
THE SCALE IMPORTANTLY HAS THE SMALL REMOVABLE CHROMED DISH ON TOP BUT THIS IS NO LONGER PRESENT. THE NEEDLE OF THE SCALE IS HOWEVER ALREADY ADJUSTED FOR ACCURACY TO REFLECT THE WEIGHT OF A DISH PLACED ON TOP WHICH WOULD THEN PLACE THE NEEDLE AT "0"
STAMPS/MARKS : THE FACE IS MARKED - "10 LBS, TOWER" . ALSO MARKED - "MADE IN WEST GERMANY"
CONDITION: SOME PAINT SCRAPES AND OTHER AGE RELATED WEAR. IT SEEM TO WORK AS IT SHOULD THOUGH. IT HAS THE TOP CHROMED DISH.
