AN OLD 1950S RADIUS NO 55 BLOWTORCH. IT AN RARE ITEM AND INTERESTINGLY HAS THE WORDS GENUINE ONLY WHEN PROVIDED WITH THE NAME RADIUS ENGRAVED ON THE BRASS IN 6 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES.

GENUINE ONLY WHEN PROVIDED WITH THE NAME RADIUS
THIS IS WRITTEN IN 6 LANGUAGES. APART FROM ENGLISH I SEE GERMAN (WENN), PORTUGUESE (LEGITIMO), FRENCH (RIGOUREUSEMENT). ONE I ASSUME IS SWEDISH AND THE LAST IS WRITTEN IN A VERY STRANGE SQUIGLY HANDWRITING NO IDEA WHATLANGUAGE IT IS.
ONE THE ONE KNOB IS SAYS MADE IN SWEDEN AND ON THE OTHER PHOEBUS.
Phoebus is the Greek god of light; son of Zeus and Leto; twin brother of Artemis. So maybe this is a play of words.
ON THE PRIMER PUMP CAP IT READES RADUIS MADE IN SWEDEN AS WELL.
SIZE: 25CM WIDE 23CM HIGH
Condition: COMPLETE APART FROM THE KNOB ON THE PRIMING PUMP. SOME PATINA. THE KNOBS TO OPEN THE CHAMBER IS STUCK THOUGH AND NEED SOME GREASE. I THINK IN FAIR TO GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE.
IT WOULD MAKE A GREAT SHELF PIECE FOR ANY WORKSHOP OR HOME.
FOR THE MORE CREATIVELY INCLINED IT MAKES FOR AN AWESOME BLOWTORCH LAMP SEE PICTURE ADDED. THERE ARE MANY VIDEOS ON RESTORING OLD BLOWTORCHES ONLINE.
The blowtorch is of ancient origin and was used as a tool by goldsmiths and silversmiths. They began literally as a "blown lamp", a wick oil lamp with a mouth-blown tube alongside the flame.
