Vintage 1950s RORSTRAND VASE BY GUNNAR NYLUND

On offer is a

Beautiful luster glaze vase by Rorstrand

Gunnar Nylund was the designer of this art pottery vase. It is not a common piece, and fetches very high prices overseas.

After an exhibition at Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm 1930, Gunnar Nylund was discovered by Rorstand. He joined Rorstrand and remained with this firm as one of its leading designers until 1958. is marked on the base:

Rorstrand pottery is from Sweden.

Rörstrand is the second oldest porcelain manufacturer in Europe and has been supplying people contemporary porcelain products since 1726. The the factory is in the town of Lidkoping.

The mark is -

Rorstrand Lidkoping Modeil NYLUND. Made in Sweden, and MANDDREJA

(The latter word means “hand made”).

14 cm tall

There no chips, cracks, or crazing. The colour of the vase is a lustre yellow that is closest to the first picture's colours.
