IT MAY LOOK LIKE AN ORIENTAL PERFUME/SNUFF BOTTLE (WHICH IS WHAT I THOUGHT AT THE TIME) BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A VINTAGE 1950's CATYLITIC LIGHTER - IT USES METHANOL AS FUEL AND HAS A PLATINUM CATALYST IN THE LID (PLATINUM HEATS UP THE MENTHANOL VAPOURS AND AS SOON AS THESE ARE EXPOSED TO AIR WHEN LID IS LIFTED IT AUTOMATICALLY IGNITES A FLAME)  THERE IS A RED POWDERY SUBSTANCE IN THE BOTTLE (WHICH I ASSUME THE METHANOL IS POURED ONTO) BUT METHANOL HAS OBVIOUSLY EVAPORATED LONG AGO AND I AM LOATHE TO TEST IT BY ADDING MORE METHANOL FOR OBVIOUS SAFETY REASONS DURING SHIPPING BUT SEEMS TO BE IN VERY GOOD, COMPLETE, UNDAMAGED CONDITION.    REFER IMAGES
