This fantastic vintage set of playing cards was designed by the Spanish artist Antonio Casero and was produced by Fournier in 1965. Casero selected the images for the cards himself and it is considered some of his best works of art.
Each card depicts a matador and bull in the ring and features the great matadors of the past with their names and the year that they became a matador printed on the card. A chronological order is generally followed.
This is a full poker deck with 52 cards, 2 jokers and a card printed with a Contract Bridge Scoring Table.
The deck's edge is gilded and is still in its original plastic case, with the Fournier logo in the front and 'Heraclio Fournier - Vitoria Made in Spain' on the back. It also includes a booklet in Spanish, French and English.
It is in a very good condition for a deck of cards that is now nearly half a century old with no damage to report, and all cards present.
An absolutely stunning deck of cards worth adding to your collection.
