BETRIX POTTER MANUFACTURERS (BESWICK/ROYAL ALBERT/ WEDGWOOD):
The first Beatrix Potter pieces were made by the iconic Beswick (1894-1969) factory in the late 1940's - and production of the figures continued at Beswick and in turn, Royal Albert for many decades. Beswick and Royal Albert Beatrix Potter are however no longer in production.
From 1949 Wedgwood manufactured Peter Rabbit nurseryware under licence from Beatrix Potters publisher, Frederick Warne & Co. Between 1981 and 2003 Wedgwood produced annual seasonal giftware printed with Peter Rabbit and other characters created by Beatrix Potter (18661943). Wedgwoods playful designs captured the essence of Potters famous illustrations, and the plates, bowls and mugs sold well.

WEDGWOOD (1759-present):
Wedgwood is a fine bone china and porcelain pottery brand that was founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood, an English potter and businessman based in Burslem, Staffordshire. Remembered as the Father of English Pottery, Josiah Wedgwood created the well-respected Wedgwood brand through experimenting with clay and eclectic design. He most famously created the Wedgwood Blue, a colour that is now synonymous with the brand and recognisable worldwide.
In 1986, Waterford Glass Group plc purchased Wedgwood. In 2001 Wedgwood, Waterford and Royal Doulton were placed into WWRD Holdings Limited.
In 2009, the high-profile collapse after six years of losses of the Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton Group (WWRD) threatened the future of the Wedgwood story. In 2015, the Wedgwood company was purchased by the Finnish consumer goods company Fiskars (itself the custodian of the heritage family brand Fiskars, founded in 1649). Today, production of 'prestige' wares such as hand-painted and limited edition objects continues, and Jasperware is still made by a small team of skilled workers at the Barlaston England factory, while the rest of the company's output is produced in Indonesia.

BEATRIX POTTER (1866-1943):
Helen Beatrix Potter was an English writer and illustrator. She is best known for her children's books featuring animals, such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which was her first commercially published work in 1902. In all 23 Peter Rabbit tales were written by Beatrix Potter.
Around about 1907 she modelled some clay figures and contacted Royal Doultons Lambeth factory. However nothing came of this project.
Some ten years later another attempt was made to produce the charming characters from her stories with Grimwades. Again unfortunately nothing came of it.
The first Beatrix Potter pieces were made by the iconic Beswick factory in the late 1940's - and production of the figures continued at Beswick and in turn, Royal Albert for many decades. Sadly by this time however she had died.

MRS TIGGY-WINKLE:
Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, one of Beatrix Potter's most beloved characters! Tiggy-winkle is a hedgehog washerwoman with kind and twinkly eyes! She launders the clothes of all the animals and generously delivers them clean and pressed. Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle befriends animals and shares her joy and wisdom with them.
