Description: A historically significant 1970s Swiss automatic dive watch from Fortis. This pioneering model features a lightweight, off-white fiberglass/plastic monocoque case design. The clean white dial is detailed with chunky, applied silver block indices, thick baton hands with aged tritium lume plots, a framed date window at 3 o'clock, and original "Flipper 20 ATU - 600 FT" printing. The experimental composite case back features a prominent molded dolphin emblem alongside the Olympic rings. Powered by a high-grade Swiss 21-jewel automatic (self-winding) movement.
Condition: Pre-owned/vintage. The watch is currently running and ticking, though its timekeeping accuracy and power reserve have not been fully tested; a routine movement service is recommended for daily use. The original composite case and crystal show honest age-related discolouration, superficial scuffs, and minor surface wear appropriate for a vintage tool watch.
Sold as a standalone watch head (no strap or spring bars included) strictly as-is.
