THESE ARE TWO NICE SOUNDING LOTUS POND BAODING BALLS FROM THE  1980S. IN ITS ORIGINAL DECORATED BOX AND ORIGINAL BOOKLET. IT HAS A STICKER ON LID SAYING HEALTHY BALL LOTUS POND.
 
BAODING BALLS:
Baoding Iron Balls, famed as one of the three treasures of Boading, China, is a traditional product renowned at home and abroad. The production of Baoding Iron Balls date back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and it has been made meticulously by Baoding handicraftsmen through the ages.
Originally the Baoding Iron Ball was a solid ball, and afterwards it was designed hollow with a sounding plate in it. Of a pair of balls, one will sound high and one will sound low.
It is used by the aged to build up physical strength and remove diseases. According to the Chinese traditional medical theory of Jingluo (refers to the main and collateral channels or network of passages through which vital energy circulates), the ten fingers are connected with the heart. That is to say your ten fingers are connected with your cranial nerve and vital organs of your body, including your heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys, gallbladder, stomach and intestine, etc.
By plucking the iron balls with your fingers, the balls can stimulate the various accupuncture points in your hand resulting in the circulation of vital energy and blood through your body. This can help to make your muscles nimble, bones stronger and cure hypertension amongst other diseases. If you keep it up and exercise every day for months and years it will help improve your memory, relieve fatigue and prolong your life.
Put the two iron balls on your palm and crock and stretch your five fingers in sequence to cause the balls to rotate and revolve either clockwise or anti-clockwise. In so doing all the joints in your hand are always in motion and your forearm muscles are contracted and relaxed harmonically.
