STUART SURRIDGE SS JUMBO BAT: Sometimes referred to as the Rolls Royce of cricket bats, especially at the time when Gooch scored his famous 333 at Lords, the Surridge brand spent many years at the top of the game until one day it wasnt around so much anymore. Apparently the company was sold in the 80s and has passed through several hands since. Established way back in 1867, Surridge Sports produced some of the most sought after cricket bats on the market. The limited edition SS Jumbo is one of them. Some great names have put their trust in a Stuart Surridge bat over the years with the likes of WG Grace, Viv Richards, Graham Gooch and Lance Kluesner all providing an elegant mixture of power and panache with the finest English willow in hand. The SS Jumbo is one of, if not the most famous bat around, due to its longevity amongst other things. It has a legendary ping off the bat and because there is an extraordinary amount of willow - Grade 1 English willow no less - on the Jumbo, even if you do not catch the ball on the sweet-spot, you still get full value for your shots. The power it possesses is frightening.
GRAY NICHOLS EXCALIBUR BAT: Gray-Nicolls is based in East Sussex Englan. Specialising in cricket equipment and cricket apparel this legendary company was formed when the two companies Grays and Nicolls merged in the 1940s. Soon after World War II, the famous cricket stars Wally Hammond, Englands Captain at the time, and Australian all-rounder Keith Miller began using Gray-Nicolls bats. To this day, both Ashes contenders England and Australia have been smacking sixes with them ever since. The brand went from strength to strength in the 1950s and 60s and at one stage the captains of all 5 test playing countries (Ted Dexter, Richie Benaud, Frank Worrell, John Reid, Trevor Goddard) all used Gray-Nicolls. Another impressive feat is that Gray-Nicolls uniquely remains the only company producing bats that has control over the entire process from planting the willow to delivering the bats.
KOOKABURRA: Kookaburra is an Australian sports equipment and apparel company based in Melbourne, Australia. The company was founded in 1890 and specializes in manufacturing various equipment used for Australian rules football, cricket, and field hockey. The company is named after the Australian bird Kookaburra.
