A VINTAGE SILVERPLATED 3 HORN EPERGNE FLORAL CENTERPIECE TO DISPLAY FLOWERS ON YOUR DINING TABLE. IT HAS 3 REMOVABLE FLOWER VASES.
 
THIS VINTAGE SILVER PLATED ART NOUVEAU FLOWER VASE EPERGNE CENTER-PIECE, HAS THREE REMOVABLE FLOWER VASES, WITH A CENTRAL LARGER VASE, ALL SITTING ON A BASE WITH WIRE-WORK SCROLLS AND MELON-STYLE FLUTING.
 
Epergnes (an ornamental centrepiece for a dining table, typically used for holding fruit or flowers) originated in France and were initially used to display delicacies like sweetmeats for royalty and nobility. They became more widely used in the mid-19th century, with the Victorian era seeing their widespread adoption into middle-class homes. 
 
Epergnes typically feature a central bowl or vase supported by branches or stems, which hold smaller dishes, vases, or candleholders. Many in Victorian times were made of Sterling Silver but they could be made of silverplate, metal, glass, or porcelain. 
 
Epergnes are now highly sought after by collectors, often found at auction houses, antique shops, and flea markets.
