A royal colour combination - wine red garnets, with sheeny seed pearls and warm yellow gold - this piece has a lovely lustre and is gorgeous on the hand! Quite substantial, the 9ct yellow gold ring has a narrow shank at the bottom widening at the shoulders with intricate openwork detailing that forms a bridge to raise the entire ring head above the finger. There three claw-set round-cut deep red faceted garnets. The central garnet is a 1,20 ct stone, flanked by 2 round cut garnets totalling 1,06 ct. Together they total 2,26ct. There are four round seed pearl spacers, creating a beautiful contrast of colour and texture. The pedigree of the ring is evident in the hallmarks inside the shank - 375 indicating 9ct gold, the London Assay mark and an unusual heart-shaped hallmark with the jeweller's signature and the date 1966 making this one a 50 year old vintage piece. This style, featuring the combination of garnet and seed pearl, is a favourite from English vintage years.The intricate openwork on the bridge under the ring head makes this one a particularly collectable ring! Considering its age, the garnets, pearls and gold are in excellent vintage condition.
