Vintage 9ct Gold and Blue Spinel Ring

 

The vintage 9ct yellow gold dress ring is set with a synthetic, eight-cornered round star-shape-cut blue spinel (approximately 15.8mm diameter point to point circa 9ct; bright blue; eye-clear). The spinel is held by eight claws between the point. The claws rise out of an open work head. The ring is marked 9ct. It also has a makers mark KAP and other marks that appear to be South African mid-20^th Century marks.
