Vintage 9ct Gold and Shell Cameo "Hermes" Brooch

The vintage 9ct yellow gold brooch has an oval shell cameo (34mm x 27.5mm), of the Greek God Hermes Herald and Messenger of the Gods, finely carved, and set in a plain 9ct gold tube-setting with a twist-wire surround. The brooch has a small loop on the back which could be used to attach a safety chain or could have a bale attached to make the brooch wearable as a pendant. The frame is unmarked but tests to be 9ct yellow gold.
