This tactile solid piece of English vintage jewellery is crafted out of 9ct yellow gold. A simple chevron design - also referred to as a 'keeper ring' as it stacks with other rings, keeping them in snugly place on the finger. The narrow polished shank widens in a soft curve, that when viewed from the side, curves downwards quite precipitously to a point. The interesting texture is created by rows of small raised and rounded 9ct gold baubles worked into the gold. The 2,6 gram piece bears the date hallmark for 1985, as well as the London Assay mark, the jeweller's signature and the 375 hallmark for 9ct gold. A true English collectable, "keeper rings" have been in vogue since the mid 1700's in England.
