VINTAGE 9CT YELLOW GOLD PEAR FACETED NATURAL OPAL AND TANZANITE RING

This gorgeous piece features a pear-faceted cabochon of natural opal, held on elongated 9ct yellow gold claws 6.5mm above the finger. Framed by 14 x round faceted real tanzanite gemstone claw set in 9ct yellow gold. The ring head measures 11mm across x 13.5mm long, and is set on a simple 9ct yellow gold shank, forking horizontally on the shoulders, an openwork design element, holding the cage-like structure that supports the gemstones. The piece weighs 2.74 grams, and bears the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold. The opal and the tanzanite have both been gem tested and authenticated. The colours are particularly subtle - the tanzanite a beautiful gentle lilac and the milky iridescence of the natural opal a lovely complement to the mix. Not sure how old the ring is but I bought it from a favourite vintage jeweller in the Jewellery Quarter of England's Midland area.
