This vintage, English piece of 9ct yellow gold has a certain majesty: featuring a 9mm long x 7mm wide oval faceted sapphire in the darkest blue, set in decorative flattened claws. The sapphire is framed by 16 x small, single cut diamonds set in curved, pincer-like claws that support the diamond. The openwork within and between the pincers adds a decorative element, an almost ruff-like design. The 12mm long x 10mm wide ring head sits on a slender 9ct yellow gold shank that forks on the shoulders to support the base of the ring head. The piece weighs a solid 3,32 grams. The ring bears the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold. There are more hallmarks including the assay, but they are not readable I'm afraid! (see photograph). I have had the piece authenticated by an independent jeweller, and her "certificate for insurance purposes" of R7'000 will accompany the ring. A striking, solid piece of vintage England. The ring has only gentle buff marks to speak of its vintage age and I've had the stones and the claws checked for safety.
Ring measurements: 12mm long x 12mm wide x 5mm high Weight: 3,32 grams Ring size: 6 1/2 ('N' in SA or British sizing)
Please look at the specifications carefully as the photography enlarges the jewellery!
