VINTAGE TOURMALINE & DIAMOND GEOMETRIC 9CT YELLOW GOLD PENDANT ON A 45cm 9CT YELLOW GOLD CURB CHAIN

This elegant vintage piece is beautifully made, featuring a baguette faceted real tourmaline in a rich pinkish russet colour, bezel set into a 9ct yellow gold frame. Measuring 16mm long x 7mm wide, the bezel setting is relatively wide, the simple bevelled frame holding the gemstone firmly. The yellow gold pendant has quite a solid bale - almost rectangular - but narrowing slightly at the bottom, and featuring 3 single cut diamonds, claw set in a 9ct white gold vertical oblong. Threaded through the bale is a 45cm long 9ct yellow gold curb chain, closing behind the neck with an octopus clasp. The necklace is in very good vintage condition (barely even buff marks!), weighs 4.6 grams, and bears the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold, the jeweller's signature, the date mark for 2007 and the Birmingham Assay mark. The 9ct gold chain is really strong. It lies flat around the neck and is 2mm thick measuring the link flat side up - quite solid and distinctly noticeable. Even so, please read the specs as the photographs do make the jewellery appear larger. The pendant too is fairly small but designed almost three dimensional creating a lovely solid piece. Unusual to see tourmaline set like this. The colour too is quite unusual and appealing.
