ANTIQUE ANTIFYRE FIRE EXTINGUISHER PISTOL
Includes 4 full cartridges in the original case
A full set like this is very rarely seen. The pistol's mechanism is in working condition and the 4 cartridges are still sealed. I would not recommend trying them out though!
Most of the labels and lettering is still legible but the red paint is deteriorating and the case, especially the under side, has some serious rust. For the avid restorer this should however not be too much of an issue.
Made by AntiFyre Ltd in London, England during the 1950's. Actually invented by a British army officer, it works almost like a giant shotgun cartridge.
The cartridge is loaded into the pistol and fired at the base of the fire. The firing pin on the pistols hits a charge at the rear of the canister and after a second or two delay, discharges the fire suppressant powder in the canister at the fire, hopefully extinguishing it by starving it of oxygen.
Please have a look at the images to verify age and condition and feel free to ask questions.

The pistol measures about 35cm in length and the cartridges 25cm.
