Mid-century cup and matching saucer collection in the "Anemone" pattern. Designed by ceramic pioneer Ulla Procopé, the heavy vitrified bodies feature bold, fluid floral brushstrokes on each cup exterior paired with thick accent bands running along the saucer rims, all covered in a high-gloss glaze that reflects ambient room lighting beautifully. Every cup is anchored by a sturdy, comfortable D-shaped integrated handle, demonstrating premier Scandinavian functionalism.
Arabia Finland's "Anemone" series stands as a globally recognized benchmark of mid-century Scandinavian studio pottery, celebrating the integration of thick, robust stoneware with hand-applied artisanal detailing. The distinctive glaze application involved paint-decoration directly onto unglazed bisqueware before applying a protective clear overglaze, creating a permanent, scratch-proof layer that locks in the deep iron-and-cobalt blue pigmentation.
Each cup features the authentic hand-painted underglaze signature "ARABIA FINLAND" alongside distinct professional artist initials like "UP/TK" and "UP/RK" in deep indigo script, while the bases display rare, hand-smudged factory marks.
Made in Finland, circa 1962-1974, making this stoneware cup collection 52+ years old.
Did you know? The distinctive hand-smudged factory stamps on the unglazed base rings of these saucers are highly prized by contemporary glassware historians. Rather than a flaw, these underglaze indigo smudges serve as expert validation markers, proving these pieces were stamped by hand directly inside the busy Helsinki studio kilns during the earliest, highest-grade production runs of the 1960s.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
Visible Flaws: All three cups and their corresponding saucers are in structurally flawless, premium condition with no chips, cracks, or post-production fractures. The interiors of all three vessels are immaculate and entirely free from any metal utensil scratches, cloudiness, or grey lines. The undersides exhibit authentic factory-smudged blue stamps and very mild, age-appropriate storage shelf dust tracking along the unglazed foot rings from genuine age.
