This vintage work of art of an cross legged Aztec god
was created by a craftsman from Tecali Mexico
(The Aztec name for Onyx is Tecali...)
The stone tecali was widely used in pre-conquest Mexico
and the Maya, Aztecs and Zapotec favored it for masks and other artifacts
Created from onyx gravel on a solid wooden frame
with an Aztec style ornamental onyx gravel border
The original 'ONIX TECALI' sticker and a wire attached to the back:
