Romanian AKM Type 1 - Bayonet

UNIQUE, ORIGINAL!! - Highly Collectable - RARE

Dimensions: Total length in sheath 33 cm, Blade length 15 cm, Length of grip 13 cm, Blade width 3 cm.

The item has been described as a "Romanian AKM Type 1 .... with sheath hanger and handle strap missing. Further information received mention that it could have been manufactured in the USSR. The AKM Type 1 was followed up by the AKM II with a sheath made of "bakeliet" and it also had some strengthning ribs along the length of the blade. The Type II was followed up by the AKM III which was used mainly with the well known AK 47 rifle.

There is a strong possibility that the Bayonet could have originated from the Rhodesian "bush-war". The number on the sheath could be a Rhodesian military stock number.
