Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi ceramics.

This vase belongs to a limited edition of lava glaze ceramic objects commissioned by the prominent Dutch department store De Bijenkorf and were manufactured by Bitossi (Montelupo) around 1958.

I have done a fair amount of due diligence on this item. Bitossi is known for their variations on makers marks. The bottom of this vase is concave, the clay the correct colouring. I believe it to be a Bitossi. If you do not agree, please do not bid on this item. I have sent an enquiry to the factory in Italy but have not had a reply.
