 VINTAGE SAPPHIRE 9CT YELLOW AND WHITE GOLD RING. NATURAL DIAMOND ACCENTS

This striking piece has a distinctly showy ring head. It is quite large (16mm across and 14mm long), is a good weight (3,61 grams) and features 0,28 carats of beautiful mid blue to dark blue sapphires. The central claw-set sapphire is oval faceted and the 8 sapphires that are claw set into a 9ct white gold wavy ribbon to the top and bottom of the ring head, are round faceted. The entire ring is 9 carat gold with an interesting mix of colour in that the shank is yellow gold while the entire ring head is white gold. There is a white gold ribbon running through the middle of the ring head that has raised textured detail. Into this, the jeweller has set 8 x small natural diamonds. The slim shank widens at the shoulder where it splits vertically so the 16mm wide x 14mm long ring head is supported both at the top and bottom of the cage-like structure that supports the gemstones, raising the ring head to 6mm above the finger. I have had the ring jeweller tested and authenticated. The ring is hallmarked by the jeweller's signature, '375' indicating 9ct gold, the London import gold hallmark and the date mark for 1990. Please note the small ring size. Its a bold and beautifully designed piece and in good condition. A rather nice collectable piece of English jewellery.
