A quirky and wonderfully patinated set of vintage brass bait tins, each neatly labelled with a copper plaque reading MAGGOTS, WORMS, and BAIT. These square tins nest inside one another for compact storage, with simple clip closures and a no-nonsense utilitarian charm. Whether you're a fishing enthusiast or just appreciate odd little relics of practical history, these tins hit the sweet spot between form and function.
The largest tin (Maggots) measures 7.8cm x 7.8cm x 3cm, the medium (Worms) comes in at 7cm x 7cm x 2.2cm, and the smallest (Bait) is 5.8cm x 5.8cm x 1.9cm. All three are in good condition with no damage, but do show apparent signs of use as can be seen in the photos exactly what you'd expect from working tackle boxes of this era. While unmarked, this set was sourced in Ohio, USA, and has a distinctly Arts and Crafts feel in both material and design with warm brass tones, curved forms, and a handmade aesthetic that subtly echoes the tail end of the Art Nouveau period.
Still perfectly usable if you're keen on a bit of old-school angling, or equally brilliant repurposed as conversation-starting storage on your desk or shelf. In good vintage condition with an untouched surface and rich aged brass tone, this set is a catch for collectors, decorators, and lovers of all things fishy.
